Daily Banker

January 20th, 2008

I have found a lot of great loan and finance sites site on the net lately. Another great site that I was really excited to discover is The Daily Banker. The Daily Banker is a blog that is dedicated to delivering fresh banking news and articles on a regular basis. They cover everything from bank reviews and bank deals to best CD rates and money market rates. The Bank Reviews section covers the most popular banks and gives a detailed analysis of each bank. The Best CD Rates section gives the highest paying CD rates from the nations top banks and it is all updated regularly in one easy resource. The Money Market Rates section is pretty much like the CD rates section, in that it gives up to date money market rates. This is very helpful if you’re trying to compare money market rates and you don’t have the time to browse dozens of banks websites to get each banks individual rate. This section gives you all of that information and it’s free! The bank deals and promotions section is very interesting and very valuable. It can help you find the best deals anywhere, regardless of where you live or where you bank. Some of the deals you can find on The Daily Banker right now are: Seventy-five dollars free, just for opening a checking account with Bank of America, or E*Trade’s amazingly high 5.25% interest rate on their 6 month CDs. There are also deals from CountryWide, AmeriTrade, Indymac, EverBank and many, many more. The last section on the Daily Banker is the Business Credit Cards section. It gives you the best deals available on all of the major business credit cards out there. The Daily Banker is a very valuable site and one that I will read on a regular basis.

LoanNetwork

Since this is the Loan Blog, I am always on the lookout for other loan sites that will be of value to my readers. I have found another site that I think can be very helpful to you. The site is called LoanNetwork. Why is this site so valuable? It is valuable because it has a ton of useful information on topics such as, refinancing your mortgage, debt consolidation, pay day loans, paying points, and even finance terms for people who are not familiar with the loan industry jargon. One of my favorite features on the site, is a section that allows you to compare rates on different types of loans. Let’s say you want to compare home loan rates, you just go to the compare rates section and choose between mortgage refinance, home equity, or new home loan and then you enter the state you live in and the type of home and in less than two minutes you have up to four custom mortgage quotes from a network of the nation’s top lenders. The best part about it is that you do not have to enter your social security number and it is completely safe and secure. There’s way too much information and too many helpful tools on this site for me to try and describe to you. It’s much easier if you just check this out for yourself.

Do you need to get out of debt?

January 13th, 2008

Are you one of the millions of Americans who are currently in debt? Everyday, more and more people in the U.S. are falling behind in paying their bills, while their interest rates continue to rise and late fees are assessed. It can feel like trying to skate up a mountain, an insurmountable obstacle. You are left with feelings of helplessness, desperation and guilt. You have accepted that you need help.

So, what can you do?

There are plenty of options in helping to manage, reduce, or eliminate your debt. One resource that I found to be very helpful is this article, How to Get Out of Debt. It explains everything you need to know about debt and how to get out of it. It tells you how debt works and the type of thinking that gets most people into debt in the first place. More importantly though, it explains strategies that will help get you out of debt, no matter how much debt you currently have. The amount of options you have might surprise you. I also found a lot of other helpful articles on a variety of different subjects on the site.

SAS 70

January 12th, 2008

You might be asking yourself, “What is SAS 70?”. Basically, SAS 70 is an acronym for Statement on Auditing Standard 70, which is an auditing statement issude by the AICPA (Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) that defines the professional standards used by a service auditor to assess the internal controls of a service organization and issues a service auditor’s report. What is a service organization? A service organization is an entity that provides outsourcing services that impact the control environment of their customers. Examples include insurance and medical claims processors, hosted data centers, and credit processing organizations.

Here is one of the best resources on SAS-70 available on the internet. It is very comprehensive, covering the two types of SAS 70 reports, advantages for using SAS 70 reports, and providing links to further reading on the subject. If you’re a service organization looking for more information on SAS 70 and related subjects, I would definitely use this valuable resource.
